Decommissioning of nuclear facilities
At the end of their useful lifetime nuclear facilities will be shut down and have to be decommissioned subsequently. Some of them are shut down prematurely, for example because of technical or economical reasons (accident, backfitting needs) or because of political implications (phase out of nuclear energy).
